Culinary Corner with Chef Morissa: Soy Garlic Ginger Wings

INGREDIENTS

• 1/3 cup soy sauce

• ½ cup honey

• 4 garlic cloves, minced

• 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped

• ¼ cup water

• 2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed

• 1 tbsp avocado oil

• Salt & pepper to taste

PREPARATION

Use a paper towel to remove moisture from wings. Toss wings in oil, salt and pepper. Place wire rack on top of baking sheet and spread wings out evenly. Bake for 45 minutes until crispy. While wings are cooking, make the sauce. Add soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger and water to a boil in a saucepan. Then, reduce heat to low for 10 minutes until thickened. Let cool. Remove wings from oven and toss them in sauce. Place wings back on baking sheet and cook for additional 10 minutes.

*Please note, in last month’s “Caramelized Onion and Apple Tart” recipe, it called for 2 lbs of unsalted butter. This was supposed to be 2 tbsp of unsalted butter. Thanks to Nina S. for catching the typo!
