Luxury Independent Living at Kensington Park – The Highlands

Independent Living at Kensington Park is a residential lifestyle designed for seniors who are in generally good health, able to live on their own, and choose freedom from the demands of owning a home. Here, on a lush, 8-acre campus neighboring our Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, residents can get the most out of time on their own or with their family by joining ours.

Without the demands of owning a home, residents can focus on whatever makes the days pleasant.

We think of Independent Living as being the best of two worlds: our residents’ and ours! As service-minded professionals who love to take care of others, we gladly take on maintenance, repairs, cleaning, cooking, organizing social events, and scheduling excursions. In doing so, we give residents more room in their lives to do what they want to do instead of what they have to do.

The conveniences we offer are numerous. For example, residents don’t have to cook, unless, of course, they want to. Our executive chef prepares delicious meals that are nutritious and presented with flair in an elegant yet comfortable dining room. Brightly lit suites are spacious, attractively designed, and continually maintained. Our calendar of events, which is built around the varied interests of residents, changes regularly and often includes opportunities for families to participate together.

Beyond lifestyle conveniences and amenities that automatically come with residency, we are proud of providing some things our residents can’t see but can feel. We take family very seriously. Our devotion to those who live with and visit us cannot be missed. There’s a loving presence that helps them all know their well-being is our priority, they are welcome, and most importantly, they are loved. Come share in the experience.

Explorations, Excursions, Engagement

Enhancing engagement is a key for cognitive and physical well-being. Five day a week in-house exercise starts off any day with a get up and go attitude. Exploring new areas to expand involvement in the regional community and fostering new relationships is a focus. Off-site excursions include: docent guided museum visits, behind the scene tours of local theatres, experiencing the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Strathmore, enjoying dining with new friends at great local restaurants and much more.

Dining

Kensington Park strives to make each meal a satisfying experience in every way. Excellence in cuisine, presentation, service and atmosphere is our goal.

Our main dining room is sophisticated and elegant, featuring fresh flowers and color-coordinated table treatments. We urge families to dine with their loved ones often, as if they would if their loved ones lived elsewhere. Our talented and professionally trained executive chef creates meals that are flavorful, nutritious and presented well.
