It Takes a Village! Join Ours at Kensington Park & Build Your Forever Career

Kensington Park was proud to present a career-building event hosted by Dr. James Rouse, Career Coach, on October 4th to showcase how a career in senior living can be meaningful, satisfying and impactful.

Dr. Rouse is a highly successful entrepreneur and the founder of four companies. He has consulted for Google and many of the biggest corporations in America. We were delighted to be able to have him speak to us and provide his valuable advice for career goal building.

Dr. Rouse’s inspirational talks have motivated leaders, budding professionals, and current job-seekers to become more successful and realize their career ambitions.

Attendees of the Zoom event responded in a very positive way. Viewers said they learned how a positive and healthy work environment could help cultivate a career that is satisfying and meaningful.

The Zoom event also showcased our very own Kensington Park Team Member, Elias Alicea. Elias is a Brain Wellness Coordinator who works to improve and maintain the cognitive health of our residents.

Elias began his career with us in dining service. Through further education and training—along with guidance and support from Kensington Park management—Elias’ career continued to grow.

Why join Kensington Park Senior Living community?

Being a team member for Kensington Park means you can work toward improving your future while making a significant difference in the lives of our residents and their loved ones.

When seeking a new career, it is natural to worry about job security.

However, the U.S. Census Bureau recently detailed how the U.S. will experience significant growth in its older population over the next 30 years.

From 2012 to 2050, the census report estimates this older demographic will almost double from 43.1 million to 83.7 million. This increase means there will be a vital need for skilled caregivers for decades to come.

The core values of Kensington Senior Living

Kensington Senior Living’s core values always include the following:

  • Love for our seniors
  • Respect for each other
  • A positive spirit to serve
  • And a passion for excellence

One guest speaker at the Zoom event was Senior Lead Care Partner Flona Patten, who has worked at The Kensington’s White Plains since 2013. She explained the benefits of incorporating these core values into her everyday duties.

Because she adhered to Kensington’s core values, Flona rose from her entry position as a Care Partner to becoming a Lead Care Partner in less than a year. “Live the values of The Kensington,” Flona explained, “and your job will be well done here.”

What is it like to work for Kensington Senior Living?

Kensington Park Senior Living is a place where culture is celebrated.

Each month, our community creates a monthly newsletter in which we recognize and celebrate the different countries from where our team members originate.

During a “culture day” as part of our Spirit Week this year, team members tasted some delicious traditional meals from around the world and had an opportunity to dress in traditional clothing at work.

Kyle Frank began his career as a Care Partner within Memory Care in 2019. During the height of COVID-19, Kyle was promoted to Assisted Living Supervisor at Kensington Falls Church and rose to the challenges of the pandemic with flying colors.

Kyle’s leadership skills have grown tremendously. “My residents have become a lot like friends and family to me,” Kyle says. “I have built close working relationships with them.”

Kyle goes on to say that many of the residents he works with are role models to him and continue to “amaze and inspire” him with their wealth of life experiences and knowledge.

Elias, a team member here at Kensington Park since 2020, originally starting in dining and has grown exponentially since then! Elias is now our Brain Wellness Coordinator, and has been championing the Brain Wellness program to support our residents’ with their cognitive health.

He shares, “I have grown in many different directions in this industry.”
