As June rolls in at Kensington Park, we welcome summer with open arms. Thoughts of summer bring so many wonderful memories to mind; driving to the beach on a Friday afternoon, listening to kids laughing and playing at the pool, smelling an outdoor grill that’s been fired up and finding fresh produce at the farmers market. Here at Kensington Park, we can even hear the sounds of the ice cream truck as it makes its way through the surrounding neighborhoods. The days are longer and we welcome a cool breeze after a hot day. Come visit with us as we sip iced tea with fresh mint from the backyard garden on one of our shaded porches.
With June, we get to celebrate another fabulous holiday – Father’s Day! Come celebrate those special men in your lives on Father’s Day and the wonderful influence they have had on us. We look forward to seeing you at our Father’s Day Lunch (at The Woodlands and The Groves) and Dinner (at The Highlands). Morissa Harris, our Director of Dining Services has a great menu to kickoff the barbeque season. Remember that your presence gives support and encouragement to everyone here. And if you can’t drop by, we hope that you will reach out and connect with your loved one in your own special way.
As we head towards the end of the month, the temperatures will surely begin to rise, but that won’t slow us down. We’ll be kicking off our “Music In The Park” program, which will include an outdoor event every month. On June 15, we will hold our second annual Movie in the Park Night, featuring “Singing in the Rain.” Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening on our campus. At each of our outdoor events we will have items for sale to raise money for the annual National Walk To End Alzheimer’s, which takes place on October 8. We would love to have you join our team. Please ask any of our staff how you can get involved. It looks like we’re going to have an exciting summer here at Kensington Park and we hope you will join us in the fun.
Warmly,
Mary
