American Flag for 4th of July

Welcome July!

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

The month of July brings us the hot and humid weather so cool off in the shade of Kensington Park. Enjoy picnics and our ongoing monthly Sunday concerts. This month the Old Dominion Quartet will be playing on Sunday July 9th at 6:30pm so don’t miss your chance to show off your dance moves!

The 4th of July brings us together to celebrate the Birth of our Nation and allows us an opportunity to spend time with family, an easy holiday with lots of food and fun! I would further recommend you view our web- site at kensingtonparkseniorliving.com for additional upcoming July events around campus!

THANK YOU From our family to yours, we would like to share an interesting fact which may include you. We are proud to acknowledge that Family & Friend referrals are one of our top two referral sources of our new residents. This is a great compliment to our team as what we Promise each day is “To Love and Care for Your Family as We Do Our Own”. We thank you for your continued referrals. The other referral source is from health care professionals which, again, is significant as they work throughout senior living communities daily. We love what we do and our team truly carries out our Promise! For details regarding our Family & Friend referral program you can call 301-946-7700 and ask to speak to Perri Holod, our Director of Sales and Marketing, or email Pholod@kensingtonsl.com.

Kensington Park, as part of our broader Kensington community, would like to share the following details of some local events happening on July 4th that we thought families might enjoy!

KENSINGTON FOURTH OF JULY BIKE PARADE This event is open to all kids, and those youthful, that wish to decorate their bike, scooter, wagon, or stroller and follow a Kensington Volunteer Fire Department truck through the streets of Kensington. The 22nd Annual 4th of July Bike Parade will be held on Tuesday, July 4th at St. Paul Park. The Bike Parade begins at 10 am and the Town asks that those wishing to participate begin lining up by 9:45 am.

MID COUNTY SPARKLES Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Road, Kensington, Maryland. This event kicks off with a concert by Gringo Jingo performing Santana cover songs at 7:30 p.m. and the reworks show begins at 9:15 p.m. The county-sponsored show allows visitors to bring low lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers—although alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Food vendors will be on site. The county is offering a free shuttle available only from Westfield Wheaton North Plaza parking lot beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Again, we are grateful to be doing what we love to do and are always interested in hearing your thoughts. We wish you safe travels throughout your summer vacations. Feel free to reach out to me by phone, 301-946-7700 or by email mmell@ kensingtonsl.com.

Warmly,

Headshot of Kensington Park Executive Director Mary Mell.
