This extraordinary team is led by Grace Engrum and includes all our porters, housekeepers, drivers, painters, and our overnight security team, too. They all work tirelessly around the clock, literally, to keep Kensington Park the beautiful campus that it is.
Our porters and painters are the onsite experts for all things maintenance. They’re here not only to change lightbulbs and touch up paint, but to salt our driveway at 4am during a snowstorm, to help move new residents in across campus, to blow leaves in the fall, set up for events and activities, and so much more. We are grateful to these men for their patience, strength and smiling faces.
Our housekeepers, led by supervisor Sheila Ortiz, always do a fantastic job ensuring the cleanliness of our community – but throughout COVID they have gone above and beyond with infection control. They take such great care with each and every resident apartment (about 175+ across campus) and not to mention all the common areas and offices – to keep us healthy. We could not have gotten through the fight against COVID without their dedication.
Our drivers transport our residents to appointments, errands and beyond – and since the start of COVID, they’ve also been picking up and dropping off team members for their shifts, so they do not have to rely on public transportation. This has been a big undertaking and has truly helped our team members avoid unnecessary potential exposure. And finally, our overnight security team is here from 10pm-8am to patrol campus while everyone sleeps! They have a very lengthy checklist to go through each night, checking freezer temperatures and fire alarm settings, as well as checking in on our other overnight team members and their needs. They keep us safe and secure 24/7!
It takes a village to run Kensington Park and our Environmental Services team is up for the job! Thank you to this wonderful team for all their hard work, mostly done behind the scenes. If you see an Environmental Services team member this month, be sure to thank them, too!
