Born in Washington, DC and raised in Florida, Nakia Graham spent her early years in Tampa, where she holds many memories of friends and family. After attending college in North Carolina, Nakia returned to the Washington, DC area where she volunteered at an Assisted Living community and developed a deep love for seniors. However, her love for seniors was ignited by her grandmother, who instilled in her the values of hard work, common sense, honesty, and reliability.
Nakia joined Kensington Park in December 2017 as a concierge, where she had a deep connection with the residents. Now, Nakia is the Business Office Specialist, where she is responsible for handling Accounts Payable, Account Receivables, and other duties. Letty Diai, Controller, says:
“Nakia has excelled in her new role, making sure vendors are paid correctly and on time. She also ensures that residents receive accurate and timely bills. Nakia is a hard worker who thrives on giving her best. She has incredible common sense and the ability to figure things out, no matter how complex. In fact, the residents still stop by to check in on her.”
In her spare time, Nakia enjoys swimming, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends. When asked why she loves working at Kensington Park, Nakia says it is because of the welcoming environment and the overall fun interaction she has with the residents.
Nakia’s passion for her work and love of the residents has made her an asset to not only the Business Office but also the entire KP community.
