Nakia began as a part-time concierge in December 2017. She was quick to learn and master the position, became full-time and was then promoted to the role of lead concierge. She has become the ultimate trainer to our new concierges, setting them up for success in their new positions. She is strong, organized, hardworking and dependable every day, setting a GREAT example.
Florida raised, Nakia is a resident of Washington, DC, living with her Grandmother, who is her #1 fan. She enjoys time with her family, including the newest member, Baby Ari, who has made Nakia an Auntie. Her visits with Baby Ari are always the highlight of her week. When not working or visiting Baby Ari, Nakia enjoys movies, music and dabbles in the kitchen with cooking. Nakia has a passion for service and creating a welcoming environment for our residents and family members. She advises her ‘trainees’ to have confidence and always ask questions if they do not understand something. She encourages them to get to know the residents and spend time with them, listening to their stories and wise words.
Nakia describes herself as hard working, funny and caring. We agree and see it every day in the way she welcomes our guests and serves our residents and staff with sincerity. THANK YOU, Nakia, for your hard work and being part of our KP family. Congratulations!
