Morissa Harris, KP’s new Director of Dining Services, has a lifelong affinity for creating the joys of food, and she knows very well what to do in bringing it to others. Born in Baltimore, she grew up in a city famous for its ethnic and seafood dishes.
Moreover, her father had his own passion for food and spent many a day in the kitchen teaching his daughter the artistry that accompanies the creation of great food. When the time came for college, Morissa attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cuisine Arts.
Over the next several years, she gained a treasure trove of experience in the food industry at a series of hotels, restaurants, and for the past eight years, at an assisted living facility. Fifteen years in culinary world has honed the skills of an artist who has pledged herself and her staff to provide the finest meals possible to all KP residents, families, and guests. In her personal life, Morissa transfers her delicious creations to bring family and friends who cannot get enough of what she brings from the kitchen.
In addition to food, she is passionate about professional sports, especially football; Morissa’s favorite team is the New York Giants. She also thoroughly enjoys traveling. Her greatest personal joy came late this summer when she married a wonderful man who happily shares their love for each other. As for Kensington Park, it is an honor and a blessing to now have so vibrant a spirit come among us to lift our spirits with the sensations of the palate. The Dining Room will introduce us this fall to a new world of culinary discoveries. Stay tuned.
