Team Member Highlight: Kyoko Marrone, K-CLUB Coordinator

Dedicated, caring and happy are just a few words that come to mind when describing Kyoko Marrone, Kensington Club Coordinator. Some would also call her a hero – defined as someone who changes the lives of others – as that is exactly what Kyoko does each day with her residents.

Kyoko has been a part of the Kensington Park family since October 2015. Before coming to Kensington Park, she worked in senior living as a care manager, activities assistant, and med tech. During her time there, Kyoko finished her associate degree at Montgomery College.

Kyoko was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. As a former military wife, she moved to the U.S. in 1986 and had two children: one son and one daughter. She also has one granddaughter, and another on the way!

Outside of work, Kyoko loves to travel, cook, paint with watercolors, and trail hike with her hiking group and their dogs. Kyoko loves spending time outside in nature!

When asked what she enjoys most about Kensington Park, Kyoko says, “It is the staff, my boss, and the community in general. I love being able to create an atmosphere for my residents that they will enjoy. I go home and feel great about what I do every day, and that is how I know I have done my job.” Kyoko says that if she were not doing this, she would be a nurse because she loves helping others!

Lastly, Kyoko’s advice to others looking to start a career in senior living is to “do it because it makes you happy and because you have a passion for others.”

Kyoko’s love for seniors and passion for excellence is evident in her ability to go above and beyond to make residents happy. Thank you, Kyoko, for making a difference every day in the lives of our residents!
