Janie Evans first joined Kensington Park in January of 2013 as the Dining Room Supervisor. Before coming to Kensington Park, she worked at a funeral home as a family counselor. However, as a cancer survivor and one of 14 children, Janie decided during the height of COVID that she would retire and focus on her family and health.
In January 2023, Janie returned to Kensington Park as a Concierge! Some would describe Janie as crazy, wild, loud, and good hearted. While others like Rachel Coker, Assisted Living Director and Brooke Ballenger, Director of Community Relations, say that “Janie truly enjoys caring for the residents and their families, and she goes above and beyond to make sure families are satisfied. Her customer service is superb, and we are so glad she is back with us… she is so friendly and inviting to all guests, including tours, and always makes them feel so welcome!”
When asked what she enjoys most about working at Kensington Park, Janie says it’s her interactions with families, residents, and team members. She loves to smile and make others smile. Janie’s favorite thing to do outside of KP is to catch up on some much-needed rest. She says that if she wasn’t working at KP, she would still be giving back to others while working in the health care field.
