Charles (aka Charlie or Dr. Charles) Ekoko began working at Kensington Park in September of 2017. He is an LPN in the Groves neighborhood with more than 30 years of experience. Before coming to Kensington Park, Charles worked at previous senior living communities where he first met Executive Director Mary Mell!
“Charles is an experienced nurse with a compassion for others and a quick witty personality that is fun to be around,” says Mary. “He takes his time with the residents and engages with them with patience and love. I have been honored to work with him throughout my career.”
Charles is from Cameroon and came to the U.S. on Thanksgiving Day in 1986. He is one of 9 siblings: 5 boys and 4 girls. Charles and his wife have been married since 2001, and together they have 4 kids, as well as 2 grandchildren and 1 on the way (due Valentine’s Day 2023)!
During his free time, Charles likes to be with his family, watch the news, dance, listen to music, and watch sports. When you ask Charles why he loves working at Kensington Park, he will say it is because of the family environment, supportive staff and management, and overall fun he has with the residents. His love for seniors is evident by his compassion and dedication to his job. Thank you, Charles, for all you do for our residents!
