Team Member Highlight: Adrian Thomas

Kensington park senior living team member of the month, AdrianOur employee of the month is Adrian Thomas. Adrian was nominated by his supervisor Rachel Coker, who said, “Adrian has been very consistent with the support he provides residents and his fellow team members. He is such a great team player and is willing to do whatever task I ask of him with a smile on his face. He has taken on supporting our shopping trips and scenic rides on Mondays and Saturdays, and is always so pleasant with family members as well.

Things can get a little hectic here at Kensington Park during the holiday season with seemingly endless parties and celebrations, and care managers are under heightened demands. With regard to one team member, however, the extra effort is no problem. Adrian can always be counted on to arrive at work with a smile and an approach of genuine caring no matter what. He has only ever held the position of care manager because he enjoys the work and loves interacting with the residents.

Adrian is from Manchester, Jamaica, where he was raised by two strong women, his grandmother, whom he loves dearly and his auntie. His daughter, who we all got to see dance at the staff holiday party, is his best friend. He says he recognizes that women are the one thing he cannot live without.

Adrian describes himself as a funny guy who is loving and dependable. He enjoys football and listens to reggae and hip-hop music. What many people don’t know is that Adrian is a terrific dancer as well and, if you’d like to put his talents to the test, just invite him to your next dance party! He loves salt fish and dumplings and says, at his current age, he has no more fears. A resident once advised him that “a man cannot live without his wallet.” That’s why he says if he were to win the lottery, he’d invest his prize! His advice to new hires is “to just listen.”

We congratulate Adrian on this recognition and thank him for his commitment to joyful, caring service to our residents.
