Musical Notes with Melissa: Spring Music Playlist

Melissa Pate

With a new season comes new repertoire for our music therapy sessions!

Now that Spring has officially sprung, we can hear the birds chirping, see the cherry blossoms blooming, and are getting much more sunlight. In order to meet our residents where they are, it is important that the music we sing reflects what they are experiencing in their environment – and yes, that includes seasons!

Here is what Kensington Park has on our Spring music playlist:

  1. April Showers
  2. Easter Parade
  3. I’m Always Chasing Rainbows
  4. What a Wonderful World
  5. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah
  6. April in Paris
  7. Singin’ in the Rain
  8. Spring Fever
  9. Over the Rainbow
  10. I’m Lookin’ Over a Four-Leaf Clover

As we head into springtime, I encourage you to make a list of your favorite songs for this time of year. Enjoy being outside in the sunshine and warm weather; notice how it lifts your mood and brings to life all the wonderful sights and sounds of Spring!
