Anyone remember that tune from Casablanca? Throughout February, the residents and I sang it quite often. Many of them knew every word, and if they didn’t, their voices rang out as they sang the line, “…as time goes by.” I asked them what those “things” were that apply as time goes by, and many of them gave answers such as love, family, and friendship. The word that comes to mind for me is connection. No matter what changes around us, connection, love and togetherness (albeit, socially distanced) will always apply. Isn’t it funny how music prompts us to think about that? As we head into Springtime, we continue to develop and nexpand music therapy services into all three buildings.
