The end of summer is upon us! We know August is the time for final summer fun before the kids return to school and you settle into your fall and winter routines – so to give you ample time to soak up the sunshine this month, we’ve planned a September End of Summer Event for KP families and friends. We’ve so missed gathering with you for campus celebrations and hope you all can join us. Be on the lookout for upcoming details!
We’ve certainly been busy ourselves here – both onsite and off. After a long COVID hiatus, residents are enjoying local outings again! The Woodlands Men’s Club recently visited Black Hill Regional Park (see photo on pg. 5) in Boyds, MD and enjoyed the view of Little Seneca Lake. The Garden Club’s amazing herbs, like Lemon Thyme, add the perfect flavor to Chef Morissa’s refreshing summer dishes.
With summer also comes our annual internship program, which we are so fortunate to have. This year our student interns from Towson University, Catholic University and Washington Adventist University have immersed themselves across campus, exploring Gerontology studies and working alongside Music Therapists and Nurse Practitioners. We love being a part of their journey and wish them well in future endeavors.
In Case You Missed It: Team Kensington Park is now 100% vaccinated against COVID-19! All 245 team members have been vaccinated. Believe it or not, this perfect vaccination rate is not the norm in other senior living communities. Kudos to all our team members for prioritizing the health and safety of our residents and families!
September Highlights to look forward to: Annual Flu shots are just around the corner and more important than ever! I will send a letter with all the details before Labor Day. And we’re thrilled to be welcoming back our next-door neighbors, students from Silver Creek Middle School, for our in-person InterAges Programming.
