Mary’s Message: Our Kensington Community

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

At Kensington Park, we are proud to have a community within all of you.

And in addition to you all, what makes Kensington Park special is that this community expands far beyond our three buildings on campus. We are honored to be involved in many ways with both the Kensington neighborhood and surrounding Montgomery County community.

It is so important to us that we give back to the wonderful place that we call home – whether that is through fundraisers and food drives, or offering educational events to the outside community such as caregiving panels, our Annual Speaker Series, music classes, cooking demos, health and finance lectures, and much more.

Last month, Kensington Park was proud to receive the Tribute Award at the Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce Annual Community Awards Banquet! We have been involved with the Chamber for many years, and they honored our team “in recognition of their great service in providing a higher level and enhanced care beyond that of a traditional assisted senior living community. Residents can participate in a variety of programs that are also offered to the public. Kensington Park hosts numerous fundraisers and food drives, and is a wonderful supporter of the Chamber.”

When we had to pivot our events with the pandemic, we still stayed in touch with the community virtually. Especially for those people at home who were seeking connection during such a difficult time, Kensington Park felt it was important to engage both our residents here and our peers in the community in creative ways.

We are thrilled to be slowly and safely getting back out into the community. Coming up soon, Kensington Park is proud to have some of our very own residents participate in the Town of Kensington Parade! Taking part in events like this is a great way for us to give back, inspire others, and celebrate the place that we call home.

We are so grateful for the relationships we have in all of you, as well as those we have in the wider community.

I hope everyone has a healthy and safe rest of the summer!

Warmly,
Mary
