Mary’s Message: October Highlights

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

A big thank you to all those who joined us for our Family First: A Conversation with Team KP virtual events! Overall, we had close to 80 families and 25 residents tune in to hear from our team members about the past 7 months: where we have been, where we are now and where we are heading in the coming months. We appreciated your thoughtful questions and enjoyed getting together with so many of you at once. If you weren’t
able to make it, we will be sending out a summary sheet.

More thanks are in order to everyone who made our special Drive-By Fundraiser for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s such a big success. With your help, we raised over $2,000 – bumping up our total to over $7,000 for Team KP! Thank you for stopping by and buying baked goods, raffle tickets and more; we loved your team spirit! For this year’s Walk, which takes place on Saturday, October 10, we will be holding a small walk on campus with team members and residents. We encourage you to Walk with us in spirit: take a stroll through your own neighborhoods! Send your photos to Betsy Davis at bdavis@kensingtonsl.com. Let’s go Team KP!

Lastly, we will be hosting an information session about our Caregiver Connect family support group on Thursday, October 15 at 4pm. Caregiver Connect is a peer support group that meets monthly with licensed clinical social worker Leslie Mason to discuss the joys and challenges of caregiving. Meet with Leslie and learn if the group may be a good fit for you. RSVP to Conor at cduncan@kensingtonsl.com.

Stay Well,
Mary
