Dear Residents, Families and Friends,
September is here and fall is soon among us! The heat waves begin to pass, leaves
change colors, and the campus gets decorated with all things “cozy.”
We kick off every September by participating in the Town of Kensington Labor Day Parade! This event is one of our favorites as residents get to be the star of the show. This year, we will have some of our residents parade through in a trolley! If you are in town on Monday, September 2nd, and can attend the parade, be sure to look out for us. We love representing Kensington Park in the greater community.
September 11th is also an important day for us, as each year we honor our heroes from the 2001 attacks. Residents and team members at each building will hold a moment of silence, as well as pass out Chef Morissa’s home-made lasagnas to the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department.
September also happens to be Falls Prevention Awareness Month, and we are proud to feature our new Director of Rehabilitation Services, Daniel Drang. Daniel stepped right in and has been working on-one-one with residents across campus to help maximize strength, abilities, and function. He also leads group classes to improve balance and educate on the best fall prevention strategies. Daniel’s weekly “Balance in Action” class at the Highlands is a packed house!
Wishing you all a fun and healthy fall.
Warmly,
Mary
