Dear Residents, Families and Friends,
Summer is officially here, and it sure brought the heat! While we are all enjoying the beautiful outdoors and sunshine, please remember the importance of staying hydrated, as it is a key part of maintaining good health and essential to prevent heat illness. In addition to staying hydrated, try not to stay out too long in extreme heat, avoid sitting in direct sunlight, and always wear proper sun protection.
There is lots of fun to be had this month and I cannot wait to spend it with you all. Read on for some great events you do not want to miss:
• Get ready for another festive Fourth of July celebration at Kensington Park! From special musical performances, cookouts, and sweet treats, we look forward to spending it with our residents, families, and team members.
• Do not miss the rest of our annual Summer Concert Series! Bring friends and family to KP for live entertainment and ice cream treats. Our second concert of the summer takes place on Sunday, July 21st at 6:30 pm, with a performance by Melonheads Band.
• Also on July 21st, families are invited to be trained in Positive Approach to Care (PAC) skills from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the Highlands building. Founded by Teepa Snow – an occupational therapist with more than 40 years of clinical practice and a leading dementia educator – PAC is a person-centered approach that uses various techniques to meet the individual needs of those with dementia. RSVP to Yenny at ydawson@kensingtonsl.com.
• On Tuesday, August 6th, join Kensington Park for a National Night Out Block Party! National Night Out is a nationwide annual, community-building event designed to generate and spread goodwill between police and neighbors. Bring the whole family to enjoy food, face painting, musical entertainment, K9 demonstrations and more! The event takes place on our campus from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Wishing you all a fun, safe and happy summer!
Warmly,
Mary
