During the month of October, as well as throughout the entire year, we recognize Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. This cause is so near and dear to our hearts here at Kensington Park.
For many years, Kensington Park would participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the National Mall with the National Capital Area Chapter. However, now Team Kensington Park laces up their shoes and walks on our own campus with residents, families, and staff! The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research – and it is so special to be able to support from our own home base.
This year, the walk will take place on Saturday, October 8th from 2-4 pm. Thank you to all who join our team year after year. Each year around this time, I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou. It is quite important when engaging with others: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Thank you for supporting our team!
