K-Club Art Exhibition and Plants Sale
On Wednesday, May 18, Kensington Park’s “Kensington Club,” also known as “K-Club,” put on the first-ever Art Exhibition and Plants Sale!
Residents and staff gathered to peruse all the beautiful works of art. Family members of the artists were also in attendance!
These pieces are some of the many works art from the creative K-Club ladies. Thanks to the wonderful guidance from Kyoko Marrone, our K-Club Coordinator, the K-Club residents are constantly busy enhancing their skills with new projects every week. What better way to show off their talent than an Art Exhibit for all to see?
Each resident also received an award for their specific talent. Whether it was the “Most Realistic Paintings,” “Best Landscape Drawings,” or “Best Use of Watercolor,” everyone was recognized for their individual unique abilities. The award ceremony was topped off by a champagne toast.
Not only are the K-Club residents busy with arts and crafts, but they have also developed quite the green thumbs! All year long, residents grow different type of plants, whether it is in an incubator indoors or in the outdoor garden on campus. As part of the Art Exhibit, residents sold some of these plants to the guests. All proceeds from the plants sale, as well as proceeds from some of the art pieces, went to the Alzheimer’s Association fund – and we made $216!
Thank you to the K-Club residents for sharing your inspiring works of art with us!
