Introducing Dr. Nicole Absar

A Message From the Executive Director

Dear Residents, Families, and Friends,

Here at Kensington Park we have an excellent clinical team working behind the scenes to provide great medical care that reflects our continual integration of the latest research and services.

In keeping with our ongoing efforts, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Nicole Absar will be joining our health care team in the roles of both consultant and educator. Dr. Absar is certified as a neuropsychiatrist, specializing in behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry. She graduated in 1984 from Sir Salimullah Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She received training in internal medicine with a concentration in neurology and completed a transition-year internship at Michigan State University’s affiliated Medical Center. She moved to Boston and completed her psychiatry residency training at Tufts Medical School with an elective year of training in general neurology. She worked as a neuropsychiatrist in Massachusetts from 2000-2014. She has had the honor of being named to the teaching faculties at Harvard Medical School-South Shore Program, Tufts Medical School, the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Johns Hopkins Medical School.

Dr. Absar is also a registered yoga instructor and certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) who teaches specialty yoga as well as a continuing-education training course on yoga and brain disorders. Her approach to cognitive-health intervention utilizes yoga, exercise and mindfulness training, as well as nutrition.

Dr. Absar’s expertise in the field of cognitive disorders, along with her passion to build a model integrated 21st-century neuroscience center for the diagnosis and treatment of neurocognitive disorders will support Kensington Park’s effort to bring meaningful change to the lives of people suffering from these conditions.
