As the days get warmer and longer, and the flowers begin to bloom, we welcome the month of May here at Kensington Park with renewed gusto. Life is blossoming everywhere you look. The grass is green and lush, the pansies are bright and beautiful and the cherry trees are shedding the last of their blooms. As you walk around the grounds, take notice of our newly painted benches and beautiful new pillows placed strategically for comfort. The furniture on our porches invite you to sit with your family and friends and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.
With May also comes one of my favorite holidays to celebrate – Mother’s Day. This special day is celebrated to honor one’s own mother, motherhood, and the influence that these special women have had in our lives. We hope to see you at one of our Mother’s Day celebrations, be it brunch, lunch or dinner. We encourage you to reach out and help celebrate this wonderful day with your family. Sometimes the smallest gesture goes the longest way. A card, a phone call or even a surprise visit can make a world of difference in someone’s life.
As we close out the month of May, let us remember to put aside time for our fallen heroes as we celebrate Memorial Day. At Kensington Park we give thanks for the valor of those who have died serving and protecting our freedoms in America. It is important for us to take time to remember the sacrifices that were made for us each and every day but especially on Memorial Day. Visit a local cemetery with the graves of fallen soldiers or fly the American flag in commemoration of those who gave their “last full measure of devotion.”
