Meet Dane Taylor, our concierge at The Groves for the last 16 years. Dane ably handles all of his concierge duties while still finding time to sing, dance and enthusiastically engage the residents. He can always be found with those who are eager to sit next to him and help him with any task. He is their anchor and he draws the residents in with his booming radio announcer’s voice, his big smile and warm heart. Dane is tireless and endlessly patient and caring. Fluent in Spanish, he has served an an interpreter for a grateful resident. He leads after-dinner sing-alongs with such passion for the residents he loves and cares for.
A “hero” is defined as “a person admired for achievements and noble qualities and considered a model or ideal.” We feel that this makes Dane a very deserving candidate! He ALWAYS has a smile on his face and lends his cheerful demeanor and positivity to every situation. He is eager to help any and all team members without hesitation, earning him the nickname, “Papa.” When asked, his fellow co-workers say they are tremendously moved by his deep compassion for the residents and that he is a true joy to work with!
Thanks to everyone who voted for Dane as part of the Argentum Hero Awards program! We are so proud to announce he not only won a Hero Award, but he received the second-most votes out of all candidates in 2016!
