Chef Morissa’s Strawberry Cream Bars

Crust:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Filling:

  • 1 cup strawberry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp our
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Line an 8×8 baking pan and spray with nonstick spray.
  3. Add our, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt to a bowl and whisk until combined.
  4. Add butter and combine until mixture is crumbly.
  5. Reserve 3/4 cup of crumb mixture and set aside for topping.
  6. Press the remaining crumb mixture into prepared pan.
  7. Set aside while preparing filling.
  8. Add the sour cream, sugar 1 tbsp. of our, egg and vanilla to a mixing bowl and combine.
  9. Spread filling over crust.
  10. Drop spoonful’s of strawberry pie filling evenly over sour cream mixture.
  11. Gently swirl pie filling with sour cream mixture with a spoon.
  12. Sprinkle crumb mixture that was set aside.
  13. Bake for 25 minutes.
