Chef Morissa’s Cheddar Popovers
- 4 eggs
- 2 egg whites
- 1 ¾ cup of milk
- 1 ½ cups AP flour
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 cup grated extra sharp White cheddar
- 2 tbsp. butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg whites, milk, flour and salt. Sir in cheddar cheese and set aside.
Place two 6 cup popover pans in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove pans and brush cups with butter. Evenly divide batter among cups and return pans to oven. Bake until popovers are puffed over rims and golden in color, 25-30 minutes.
Cut small slit in the top of each popover to release steam, bake 10 more minutes. Serve with Butter
