Mary’s Message: Fall Festivities
Dear Residents, Families, and Friends,
October is Resident Rights Month! As residents move to their new home at Kensington Park, we are honored to assure their rights as an individual are respected. Our focus is you as the resident and we encourage you and/or your advocate to feel comfortable voicing your opinion and providing feedback.
Taking care of you and our residents means also getting your Flu Shot! Our Highlands residents will be receiving Flu Shots on Tuesday, October 1st from 10am – 2pm and our residents in the Woodlands and Groves will be receiving their Flu Shots on Wednesday, October 3rd from 10am – 4pm. The consent form for the flu shot form has been sent to all families via email. Please complete and return to us for administration of the flu shot before we administer the shots. Hard copy forms can be picked up at the concierge in the Woodlands.
Walk with us! Our Kensington Park Team will continue our journey in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Please join us as we walk on Saturday, October 12th. You can register to walk with us and/or donate to our team by going to the following link: http://act.alz.org/goto/kensingtonparkseniorliving. This is a great time with family and friends for an important cause while walking off those extra pounds.
We will be holding a Car fit event on campus on Thursday, October 10th from 10am-4pm. The program is sponsored by AAA and AARP and is a free, interactive education program designed to improve your driving experience. A trained, certified technician will assure that your car fits you for a safe driving experience. If you would like to participate in our Car fit event call to schedule your appointment now with our concierge, 301-946-7700 or email Conor Duncan, email@example.com.
Trick or Treat! To celebrate Halloween, we will be inviting KP kids to come dressed up in their creative costumes for some fun and candy. Please refer to the Activity Calendar for details. Also look for the dates for our Halloween Parties across campus and make sure you come in costume!
Make October a month of exploration and reflection as we know our days will become very hectic. Keep yourself healthy with long walks, fresh air, and the beautiful colors of the fall season!
Again, thank you for all your continued support, feedback, and great comments about our team. We so love being able to care for all of you. Feel free to contact me at any time via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at 301-946-7700.
