This November, join us for Seasons of Care, three restorative sessions designed to help restore balance and renewal for caregivers and those they support. Each session will highlight practical tools to nurture both body and mind—art, yoga and music programs that build mindfulness, ease stress and restore overall well-being. Together, these restorative practices will help participants recharge, refocus, and re-energize.

Featuring:

  •   Monday, 11/10: Ashish Dashottar, Hatha Yoga Instructor

    • This traditional style of yoga involves practicing physical posturesvand breathing techniques to balance the body, mind, and spirit.  It is designed to foster relaxation and inner balance.

  • Monday, 11/17: Chris Covell, Musician

    • This interactive program, led by Chris Covell, a self-described “musician with a mission” to create joy, connect more and help others do the same, will use music to help participants connect, revitalize and regroup.

Meet Our Instructors

Ashish Dashottar is a certified yoga instructor, having completed the Teacher’s Training Course (TTC) from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram in Madurai, India. Ashish has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has participated in several yoga, meditation, and wellness programs in the U.S., Bahamas, and India. Along with teaching chair-based Adaptive Yoga classes to assisted living, memory care, and skilled care participants where he leverages all the elements of yoga toward benefits of healing, well-being and spirit, Ashish also teaches traditional mat-based Sivananda Yoga classes to the public.

Chris Covell is the owner of Brain Engaging Enterprises providing entertainment, a sense of community, and a whole lot of fun to older adults, families, and their care partners. Chris also has been known to teach activity professionals and senior serving staff on how to use the rules of engagement found in comedy to create joy and connect more with their respective audience. Prior to this adventurous venture, Chris was a nationally touring stand-up comic, musician, singer and songwriter trained in improvisation at The Second City in Chicago.
