Annual Spring Speaker Series – Smart Seniors: Navigating the Age of AI

Curious about Artificial Intelligence but not sure where to start?  This friendly session will explore what AI is, how it works, and where you may already encounter it in everyday life — from smartphones and voice assistants to tools that support health, safety, and communication. Complex ideas will be explained in clear, simple terms in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Kensington Park Senior Living is proud to host this special Smart Seniors Series, designed to help older adults feel confident, informed, and empowered in today’s digital world. Perfect for anyone curious about technology — no experience required, just bring your curiosity. Light bites will be provided for guests.

The series will feature expert speakers who will share practical insights and real-world perspectives on how artificial intelligence is shaping our lives:

Part I: ABCs of AI
Speaker: Lenora Gray, Data Scientist
Lenora Gray focuses on designing analytics and artificial intelligence solutions that align with real client needs. Her work spans structured and unstructured data analysis, predictive modeling for technology-assisted review (TAR), automation, and custom software development.

Part II: AI as Your Lifestyle Guide
Speaker: Jennifer McCloskey, Owner, Girardi Associates
Jennifer McCloskey leads an Organizational Change, Executive Coaching, and Corporate Training company. Her workshops have been delivered to organizations including Lululemon, Amazon, WSSC, Hewlett-Packard, the Department of the Navy, and Northrop Grumman, as well as universities across the United States and internationally in South Africa and India. She has also been a keynote speaker at several Earth Day events and was featured in a CBS Evening News story on Women in Non-traditional Roles during her career as a civil engineer.

Part III: AI and the Future of Healthcare
Speaker: Galina Reitz, PhD
Director, Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction (HCIM), University of Maryland
Dr. Reitz is a strategic leader in higher education with more than two decades of experience driving innovation, advancing digital accessibility, and fostering inclusive student engagement. She currently directs the HCIM program at the University of Maryland and serves as Associate Director for Higher Education with the Maryland Initiative for Digital Accessibility (MIDA).
