Town of Kensington 8K Race

Lace up your running shoes and join us for the annual Kensington 8K, a beloved community tradition that has brought runners, families, and neighbors together for more than three decades. Since 1994, this scenic race through Kensington and Rock Creek Park has been known for its fun, fast course and welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite fall event for participants of all ages and abilities.

More than just a race, the Kensington 8K celebrates community while giving back. Proceeds from the event support eight local schools, helping fund educational programs and initiatives that benefit students throughout the area. With more than $400,000 raised since 2009, every step taken helps make a meaningful difference.
